Written by acclaimed novelist and radical activist Peadar O’Donnell (1893-1986), this no-holds-barred memoir has been out of print for more than half a century.
It combines lucid political analysis with colourful detail that brings to life some of the dramatic events and key personalities of the nationwide struggle that was launched after mass in a Donegal churchyard and led eventually to teh teraing up of the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921.
This volume also contains an eloquent biographical tribute to Peadar from his close friend and political associate, Donal Donnelly, author of Prisoner 1082.
