Kathleen Davey’s poems are concerned with the Heart. They are pure impressionist-with nature her chief inspirer. There is contemplation, honesty, even anger in some poems but never malice or despair. Mark Kennedy writes of alienation and concern for individual rights-against ‘being broken’- both culturally and mentally… of reluctant medication and a childhood trapped in a city of ‘psychological corridors.’
