For us, An Ceathrú Póilí is a gem of a workplace. Our team shares a deep-seated love for books that dates back to our childhood days.

Back in 1983, we kicked off our journey at Ardscoil Bhéal Feirste, a gathering place in Belfast for the Irish language community. But after a fire swept through the Ardscoil, we spent a few years as a nomadic, setting up shop at various locales like Cumann Chluain Árd, Conway Mill, and Andersonstown.

Finally, in 1991, we found our home at Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich. As the Irish language community grew, so did we, expanding our collection to over 3,000 titles.

Whether you’re fluent in Irish, just getting started or speak none at all, or if you’re a visitor to Belfast from far-flung places, you’re always welcome to come and browse our shelves. So drop by anytime and let’s chat books!
