Description

Seans gur chuala tú faoin mbuachaill dána sin Horrid Henry. Anois tá sé in am aithne a chur ar Dhónall Dána, mar atá baistithe ar Horrid Henry sa leagan Gaeilge den tsraith cháiliúil le Francesca Simon atá á chur i gcló ag Cló Iar-Chonnacht agus iad maisithe ag Tony Ross. Tá sraith Dónall Dána / Horrid Henry aistrithe go Gaeilge bhreá nádúrtha ag meitheal aistritheoirí; Caitlín Ní Chualáin, Máirín Ní Ghadhra, Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg agus Marion Ní Shúilleabháin.

Tá cheithre gearrscéal istigh sa gcnuasach Díoltas agus tá an cnuasach ar cheann de dheich leabhar ar fad atá ar fáil sa tsraith Horrid Henry : Dónall Dána. Is í Marion Ní Shúilleabháin a d’aistrigh Mallacht an Mhumaí go Gaeilge.

Diabhailín ceart é Dónall Dána. Is buachaill é gur aoibheann leis cleasanna gránna, uafásacha a imirt. Caitheann sé bia thart, sciobann sé rudaí, bíonn sé ag brú, ag soncadh agus ag pinseáil.

Sa gcnuasach seo, is fada le Dónall Dána go n-inseoidh sé dá dheartháir Learaí gan Locht faoi mhallacht an mhumaí, agus é ag iarraidh faitís a chuir air. Ach an bhféadfadh go bhfuil mallacht an mhumaí ar Dhónall é fhéin? Nó cén difríocht atá idir ‘Mamaí’ agus ‘Mumaí’ ar aon chaoi?
You’ve heard about Horrid Henry, now it’s time to meet Dónall Dána, as Horrid Henry has been named in the Irish-language edition of Francesca Simon’s popular series of books, illustrated by Tony Ross. Cló Iar-Chonnacht are publishing five new books in the ‘Horrid Henry : Dónall Dána’ series this October which will bring the total to ten books that are available in the series in Irish.

The books are written in a natural style of Irish and translated by a group of talented translators; Caitlín Ní Chualáin, Máirín Ní Ghadhra, Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg and Marion Ní Shúilleabháin.

Dónall Dána is horrid boy who loves doing unimaginable and horrible things. He throws food, he pushes, shoves and pinches. There are four short stories in the collection Horrid Henry: Dónall Dána Mallacht an Mhumaí as there are in each book in the series. Marion Ní Shúilleabháin translated Mallacht an Mhumaí to Irish.

In Horrid Henry: Dónall Dána: Mallacht an Mhumaí our hero, Dónall Dána, can’t wait to give his brother, Perfect Peter, a fright when he tells him about the Mummy’s Curse. But could they actually be in danger from the Mummy’s Curse and what is the difference between a ‘Mammy’ and a ‘Mummy’ anyway?
